Chrisgainesdesign.com will officially launch on October 1st. There is still a lot of work to do between now and then, but as incentive I created this countdown to push me to get it done.

Chris Gaines Design - Website
The site is well under way. The design has changed a few times before I decided on a simple presentation that focuses on the projects. I've added most of the web design and illustration sections. Photography and print are coming soon.

Chris Gaines Design - Website
It has taken a while, but I finally found a fairly reliable "free" hosting service. I purchased my domain from GoDaddy and went on a search for the hosting. I didn't want ads and wanted the same control as having a paid service. This was difficult.
I finally came across 110mb.com. They allow for php and they have many wonderful features. They don't offer complete control for "free", but I didn't need the extra features like backup. The first few weeks the server was up and down. The only draw back I've found so far is that I am hosted on a new server box and the new boxes get all of the new traffic. Once the box fills its allotted user space the box is closed to new users. This is when stability is no longer an issue.
I have had a great experience with 110mb.com and would suggest it to anyone who is not looking for advanced web capabilities and wants free service. I cannot speak on their paid service, but I am sure it is great as well.
